Alexis Ohanian co founded Reddit in 2005 as a 22 year old, sold it to Condé Nast less than two years later, and then watched the platform he built become one of the most visited websites in the world. When Reddit went public in 2024 it debuted above a $10 billion valuation and has since traded north of $40 billion. But the most important thing about Reddit was never just the financial outcome. It was the thesis underneath it. Alexis understood earlier than most people that online communities and passionate audiences would eventually become some of the most valuable assets on the internet. In many ways, a lot of what he has built through 776 since then follows the exact same instinct.
Seven Seven Six, the firm he founded in 2020, is not a traditional venture fund. At its centre is a system called Cerebro, which gives every founder in the portfolio direct access to a network of roughly 44,000 contacts across media, government, business, and capital markets. The firm manages close to $1 billion in assets. In December 2025, Time magazine named Ohanian a TIME100 Impact honoree specifically for his work investing in women’s professional sport. He has also built his own sports IP from scratch: Athlos, a women’s-only track and field competition that pays six times the prize money of the Diamond League and staged its 2025 edition in Times Square.
Seven Seven Six has made around fifteen sports investments.
Three of the fifteen investments share one city. Alexis Ohanian described LOVB Los Angeles as the “third jewel” in 776’s LA sports family alongside Angel City FC and Los Angeles Golf Club, which won the 2026 championship. A jewel is not a standalone asset. Its value comes from being part of a larger set, especially with another eight infrastructure investments sitting underneath the portfolio.
