Inside ASO’s €375 Million Global Sports Empire

How Amaury Sport Organisation built a portfolio of 100+ events across cycling, motorsport, marathons and mass participation sports, generating €131 million in annual profit.

Most people know Amaury Sport Organisation for the Tour de France.

Far fewer know that the same company runs more than 100 events across 36 countries, covering roughly 250 competition days every year.

Its portfolio stretches from the Tour de France and Dakar to Paris Roubaix, La Vuelta, the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris and a growing mass participation business. The L’Étape Series alone held 26 events and attracted nearly 60,000 riders in 2025, while L’Étape du Tour de France drew around 16,000 participants.

The economics are just as striking. ASO generated €374.9 million of revenue and €131.15 million of net profit in 2024, up 79.5% and 177% respectively since 2015. In 2023, an average workforce of 289 generated roughly €321 million of revenue and €115 million of net profit.

ASO has built one of the most profitable event and mass participation businesses in global sport.
