JPMorganChase is not usually spoken about like one of sport’s biggest sponsors. But look at where the bank appears and the portfolio is much larger than most realise.
It runs through the Olympic Games, LA28, Team USA, Ohio State, the Dallas Mavericks, the US Open, Formula 1 Miami, major venues, athlete unions and youth sport.
The sponsorships are only the public layer.
JPMorganChase can open the fan’s first account, issue the card used to buy a ticket, process the payment inside the venue, finance the building, advise when the team is sold and manage the owner’s wealth.
Few sponsors can follow the same sports dollar through so many parts of the industry.
Chase serves 86.6 million consumers and 7.4 million small businesses while processing $7 trillion of payments annually. J.P. Morgan also says more than 60% of team owners across the five largest US leagues are Private Bank clients and that it financed 10 of the previous 15 team sales.
JPMorganChase is turning sporting access into banking, payments, wealth and institutional business.
